Frequently Asked Questions
-
No. Haven Dermatology operates on a transparent, direct-care model and does not bill insurance for medical services. This allows us to provide unhurried, physician-led care with straightforward pricing and no hidden fees.
If your insurance plan offers out-of-network benefits, we’re happy to provide a superbill upon request at the time of your visit, which you may submit to your insurance carrier for potential reimbursement. Because benefits vary by plan, patients are responsible for verifying their out-of-network coverage.
Learn more about our direct-care model and transparent pricing on our Pricing page.
-
Haven Dermatology does not participate in Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, or any other government health insurance plans.
We welcome patients carrying these coverages to our practice on a self-pay basis. However, due to federal regulations, patients with government insurance programs cannot submit claims for reimbursement, and our services will not be covered by your plan. Medicare patients will be asked to sign a standard, private opt-out contract prior to their first appointment to acknowledge that services are strictly self-pay.

For your convenience, you may schedule online at any time. If you prefer personal assistance, have multiple concerns to address, or are looking to schedule a procedure, please call our office directly so we can reserve the appropriate amount of time for you.
-
At Haven, we intentionally schedule unhurried appointments so every patient receives the time and attention they deserve. Because that time is reserved exclusively for you, we kindly request at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule.
A deposit is required when scheduling all new patient appointments and procedures. This deposit will be applied directly toward the cost of your visit at the time of your appointment. If an appointment is canceled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or if you do not arrive for your scheduled visit, the deposit will be retained as a cancellation fee to cover the reserved time block. Providing advance notice allows us the opportunity to offer that appointment slot to another patient in need of care.
-
No. To protect the unhurried, relationship-centered nature of our practice, all visits are by appointment. However, our direct-care model often allows us to offer same-day or next-day appointments. Simply check our online scheduling portal or call the office to see if an appointment is available.

Payment is due in full at the time of service. For a seamless checkout experience, we accept all major credit cards, debit cards, and Apple Pay.
HSA and FSA Accounts: Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) are fully accepted and welcome forms of payment for all medical services.
Cash Policy: To maintain a secure environment, Haven Dermatology is a cashless-preferred clinic and we do not keep change on the premises. If you prefer to pay with cash, please provide the exact amount due, as any overage will be safely applied as a credit to your account for future care.
Please note: We do not accept personal checks, CareCredit, or third-party financing.
